EOS GmbH Electro Optical Systems EOS exhibited at the MedTec 2010 in Stuttgart. The company showcased a wide range of plastic and metal materials for laser sintering and exhibited a plastic sintering system - the Formiga P 100 - on their booth. An interview with Martin Bullemer, Business Development Manager Medical at EOS made it clear that the laser sintering technology offered by EOS is clearly an "enabling technology" for the medical industry. Following the concept of design driven manufacturing, the technology makes it possible, for example, to produce individualized plastic drill and cutting guides as well as metal medical instruments.
