Confocal Tracking as a non-contact tool for industrial inspection of optical surfaces
Applications of aspheric and freeform optical elements are found in Blu-ray players, digital cameras, laser diode and LED collimation optic and intraocular lenses (IOL), amongst others. New manufacturing techniques have rapidly evolved recently due to the demand for ever more complex optical surfaces. In parallel, requirements for the metrology of these surfaces have also tightened.
